My Approach to Helping

**I AM CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS** I have the most expertise and passion in helping clients with: (1) Eating disorders; (2) Behavioral weight loss; (3) Couples Therapy (including infidelity recovery); (4) Behavioral health (insomnia, sleep disorders, chronic pain, coping with illness, alcohol abuse) (5) Anxiety and stress (general, social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder); (6) Depression; and (7) Trauma and PTSD. I follow a collaborative and personalized treatment approach by carefully tailoring evidence-based psychotherapy (EBPs), which are treatments that are based directly on scientific evidence from several large-scale clinical trials.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist holding a part-time private practice and an Assistant Professor Position at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University, where I am the Director of the Mindfulness, Eating Disorders, and Acceptance Lab and conduct treatment development research.

I offer an initial free phone consultation (please call me or email me to schedule). In addition to regular business hours, I also offer a limited number of evening and weekend appointments. To learn more or book a session online, please see my website: www.salapsychology.com

More Info About My Practice

My style is warm, relaxed, authentic, and practical. I follow a collaborative and personalized treatment approach by carefully tailoring evidence-based psychotherapy (EBPs). EBPs are treatments that are based directly on scientific evidence from several large-scale clinical trials, involving thousands of patients and have been shown to reduce symptoms. I have extensive training in several EBPs, and draw from mindfulness-based treatments (MBSR, MBCT, MBRP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I am also trained in exposure therapy for anxiety disorders and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. I am also currently receiving training in Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for adolescents with eating disorders from Stanford University. I am passionate about making EBPs accessible to more people.
