My Approach to Helping
Dramatic changes in everyday life have recently taken place. These new events and emotions have increased the ongoing challenges we deal with in our lives. This can stress our coping skills and impact our enjoyment in life. Perhaps you have decided it is time to seek support in handling your current circumstances. I believe that psychotherapy is an excellent source of understanding, empathy, and empowerment. Learn what is underlying your distress and ways to reduce or resolve upsetting feelings and behaviors.
In a confidential and non-judgmental environment, you can express your thoughts and feelings in a way that allows for some relief and a more hopeful outlook. You are an active participant in deciding on goals and what therapeutic techniques are best for you.
In my experience, psychotherapy has been helpful to most people in improving their quality of life.
More Info About My Practice
My practice has evolved over the years as I attained additional education and experience. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and a Master's Degree in Social Work. In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker, I am a nationally certified psychoanalyst. I am also a certified supervisor for clinical social work and psychoanalysis.
Each individual requires a therapeutic experience that is tailored to their specific needs. I can provide the type of therapy that you will benefit from. Whether it is more cognitive, or more psychoanalytic, it is possible to feel better and more optomistic about the furure.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Psychotherapy is a collaboration between two people. However, your wants and needs are what determine the direction of the work. I understand the challenges of feeling depressed or anxious most of the time. Or of being overwhelmed by unexpected or intense feelings. One of the benefits of psychotherapy is learning how to manage these feelings allowing you to make better choices and work towards a more satisfying life.
