My Approach to Helping
Welcome to my virtual practice where I provide teletherapy services for New Jersey and New York. I specialize in working with people who have hit a "road block" in their life. Whether it be anxiety, depression, sadness or loneliness, I meet people where they are and help them push ahead. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to provide coping skills to help your day to day life while working collaboratively to resolve the underlying thoughts.
More Info About My Practice
I feel that teletherapy provides us with the luxury of being in the comfort of your own home which makes it easier to talk about concerns you may not be comfortable talking about otherwise. It also allows flexibility in scheduling and accessibility so that therapy does not interfere with your busy schedule and home life.
My Role as a Therapist
I believe that my role as a therapist is to help you identify and achieve your goals. I love using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy because it encourages the therapeutic process to be more of a conversation instead of a hierarchy where people may feel uncomfortable opening up out of fear of judgement or invalidation. That is why my role is to provide a safe and secure setting where you and I can build a relationship where you feel comfortable and most importantly you feel like you are being heard.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
People ask me why I became a therapist, and to be honest the answer is simple. When I needed help, someone helped me. Since that day I have made it my career to help people, because of how important getting help was for me.
