My Approach to Helping
Do you lie awake at night worrying about being accepted, being good enough, and getting the love you need? About relationships, life changes, and your sexual or gender identity?
Young and emerging adulthood, between the ages of 16-30, is a time of so much transition. Exploring gender or sexual identity, coming into your own, learning who you really are and what you really want from relationships and work. That's hard enough without feeling disconnected, isolated, and marginalized.
More Info About My Practice
I specialize in helping young creative women, trans individuals, and gender-nonconforming individuals attain self-acceptance, self-compassion, and self-confidence.
Many individuals I work with struggle with feeling disconnected from their body due to past trauma and/or incongruence of their physical presentation with their gender identity. Many have difficulty building healthy intimate relationships, tending to keep people at a distance out of a fear of getting hurt. These are painful, lonely places, which understandably lead to feeling anxious or depressed.
If you're tired of stressing about pleasing other people, shame, anxiety, how/when/where to come out, and how to identify your own needs, let's talk about getting you un-stuck. I help clients untangle their own sense of self from their family's and friend's view of them. This often involves compassionate listening, humor, skill-building, mindfulness, boundary-setting, healing arts, and helping you explore your relationship with your body through sensation awareness and movement.
