My Approach to Helping
I am committed to supporting people who have decided to look inward, which can be a fascinating, challenging, and rewarding ongoing experience. I work with individuals and couples (or adults in any relationship) as they navigate transitions, consider life choices, search for meaning, process relational trauma, and learn to communicate more deeply. Many of my clients are writers and other creatives who identify as highly sensitive. My goal is to co-create a collaborative, trusting relationship so that together, we can identify what is most important and necessary for you. We will move at your pace, taking time to ponder your goals, dreams, memories, thoughts, behaviors, and feelings to discover what may be preventing you from being fully present with yourself and others.
I will help you become better attuned with your mind and develop your strengths and resources. As we explore your relational patterns and work to increase self-compassion, I will support your most authentic way of being in the world. I understand that for therapy to work you need to find a therapist who is a good fit. I look forward to getting to know you.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Therapy can be a dynamic, interactive process of deepening your connection with yourself and others, exploring your identity, and redefining your purpose.
My Role as a Therapist
When life becomes difficult or painful, do you feel alone? How about when you have accomplished a goal or feel really proud of yourself? Therapy can be a fascinating, dynamic process of growing and deepening your connection with yourself, your purpose, and your relationships with others. As your therapist, I will co-create with you a safe, collaborative relationship for you to say the previously unsayable. You deserve to feel unconditionally supported as you explore your thoughts and feelings in order to understand yourself and your experience more deeply. I will help you gain awareness of previously unconscious material to expand your array of choice and increase your sense of agency and authenticity. We will work together to increase your self-compassion and deepen your ability to trust your feelings, intuition, and abilities. I am a skillful listener and good at identifying strengths and resources that you may not even realize you have. We will make space for all of your feelings and ask how they may lead you toward understanding yourself and your experience more deeply. We will consider behavior as communication, remaining curious about what it says. We will move at your pace, taking time to examine your thoughts, memories, dreams, goals, and hopes to uncover what is most true and important for you. Together, we will create more space in your life and in your mind to nurture yourself, with compassion every step of the way.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Life requires that we constantly adapt to ever-changing circumstances, which can be confusing and difficult, sometimes even painful. Any time is a good time to begin therapy; many people find therapy especially useful when they are experiencing a life transition whether chosen or unexpected, welcome or not.
