My Approach to Helping
I have been a licensed and practicing psychologist for 20 years. I have a great deal of experience assisting clients in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression and general issues related to mood disturbance. I also work with clients on broader issues such as relationship concerns, improved communication skills, loss, short term crises, stress related symptoms, career difficulties and life transitions.
In addition to my private practice, I draw from an extensive background in the corporate world. I spent time as a consulting psychologist in the areas of professional development and leadership assessment. These experiences have helped address the multifaceted concerns relating to the demands of organizational settings. Some of the issues include identifying needs regarding life balance, improved communication skills and enhancing your capacities to better meet work setting demands.
I incorporate a number of clinical approaches to help you achieve goals for change and frequently use a framework that relies on cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic techniques. Learning how past experience informs current beliefs, thought patterns and response styles is often very helpful in driving the change people wish to see in their lives. Whether you are starting therapy for the first time or revisiting issues worked on in the past, please don't hesitate to call for an initial phone consultation. It would be a pleasure to speak with you.
