My Approach to Helping
I believe in helping people focus on their strengths and using these to overcome life issues. Most people are successful in dealing with their problems some of the time and I help them tap into those moments in order to replicate positive outcomes. The above is correlated to my training in Solution Focused Therapy. I also use and believe strongly in a family systems approach which focuses on problematic interactional patterns and helps detect and correct patterns that are passed through the generations. I also work with many couples and help them deal with a variety of issues, especially sexuality.
More Info About My Practice
I provide a sliding scale fee structure. I have more flexibility with fees for those clients who can come during daytime hours.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I trained at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and have always tremendously enjoyed working with couples. I find it very inspirational to help couples overcome their issues and be able to move forward in a positive direction. I feel I am doing something of immense value when couples are able maintain their relationship and improve their overall family life.
Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work
The two most important theoretical influences on my work are Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. Both tend to have a very positive outlook of clients and try to move clients to a better state in a timely manner.
