You are successful at work and it looks like you have it all together on the outside. But you still constantly question yourself and worry that you have missed the boat on what is important to you. Maybe you are finding that this nagging sense of worry has started getting in the way of your relationships, work clarity/success, and life satisfaction. Life in your 20's and 30's is characterized by a sense of possibility, hope and excitement- as well as vulnerability, relationship complexities and an awareness of your identity changing into "real" adult life. If you are experiencing all of these things at once, you are not alone!

You want to feel like you are competent, loved and valued. You want to think about your life and experience hope and confidence. I can help.

I work with young professionals facing anxiety and relationship issues, especially those who are seeking goal-directed support. I am passionate about helping clients clearly define what they need from therapy and experience tangible results. I also specialize in working with people who are seeking therapy that integrates spiritual values and focus on these issues upon request.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love having the privilege of hearing each person's unique story. I am always amazed at the strengths people bring to their most challenging struggles, especially when (as is often the case), their struggles aren't easily "fixable". Learning how to accept what we cannot change and choose how we would like to respond is one of the most empowering skills we can learn in life. I am energized by helping clients find their own voice, values and their unique path forward.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

We all exist within a spectrum from healthy to unhealthy in all facets of our lives. "Disorders", as our diagnostic frameworks refer to them, are simply a way of a drawing a line somewhere about what constitutes an unhealthy way of being. By definition, the diagnosis of a "disorder" requires that you feel like something is getting in your way. That means that your subjective experience has a lot to do with whether something is "healthy" or "unhealthy" for you. My primary focus as a therapist is on your experience of your own life and what you would like to change. I use diagnostic criteria as required for billing insurance (and it may be helpful if we decided that medications could help you in addition to therapy); but with regard to therapy, I operate outside the framework for psychiatric diagnoses. Each person is an individual and each individual's experience is unique.
