My Approach to Helping
I have a compassionate, accepting and calm style. My clients often comment on how comfortable they feel with me, even in the first session. Most people report that they feel better than they did when they came in by end of our first session.
My therapy style is collaborative and interactive. We will work on developing your unconditional acceptance of yourself as you are, while focusing on any long-standing conflicts or concerns. We will set a clear goal at the beginning of therapy in order to track and resolve your problems more quickly.
I am available to help you look at deeper, underlying issues as well, if you desire that. I have been in private practice for close to 20 years, and I am deeply committed to helping you know your innate worth. You can develop better communication skills and be, in general, more content with your life.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love helping people to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and to feel more accepting of themselves. I'm passionate about helping clients experiment with different communication styles and tools to help them in their relationships. If you bring in a current problem, we can brainstorm together different possible solutions with which you can feel comfortable.
What I Usually Need to Know to Help
In the first session, I will ask you about your goal for the therapy or coaching process. I will help you get to that by asking: "What would need to happen in order for you to feel you were ready to end therapy?"
I will ask you for specific examples of indicators that the goal has been achieved. That way, we can periodically track to see how we're doing in achieving the goal or goals.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
I offer such a comfortable, accepting and down-to-earth approach that most people who are "on the fence" about therapy are surprised at how much better they feel even, after the first session. I generally check in towards the end of our first session to ask how you are feeling about the session itself. I often hear that people already feel a degree of comfort, relief andor trust.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
You are the one, always, who will determine when the therapy is over. Therapy can be as short as a few sessions with me, or can be used as a tool for years.
