My Approach to Helping
I provide a safe, supportive environment in which to collaborate on addressing what is not working for you in your life. Together we identify and build on your strengths, developing new problem-solving strategies and coping skills to help you navigate life more effectively and achieve your goals.
My approach is eclectic, drawing from a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, to develop a holistic treatment approach individualized to your specific needs. I have a warm, interactive style.
My clinical focus includes anxiety, mood disorders, substance use disorders, life transitions, issues of emerging adulthood, work and relationship issues and trauma. I have experience working with adolescents, adults and couples.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Registered Dual Disorder Professional (RDDP). I have many years of clinical and supervisory experience in the behavioral health field, including serving as director of substance use treatment program. My prior experience also includes working as a psychiatric social worker, on an emergency department crisis team and in a community mental health program. I earned a master’s degree in social work from Loyola University of Chicago in 2011, where I was a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society. I am a subject matter expert for the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC & RC). In my previous career, I worked as a legal aid attorney.
