My Approach to Helping
Have you wondered if your child would benefit from video therapy? I offer a complimentary consultation to discuss any questions you may have. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents that may be struggling with adjustment to home school, anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral or family issues. You can talk to me about anything. I am accessible to parents and easy to talk to. I focus on your child, recognize their strengths, and develop tools to become their own therapist by learning how to deal with challenges. Clients often feel better early on in treatment.
After receiving my graduate degree from Boston University, I pursued additional training in trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy, parenting mediation, addiction training, and motivational interviewing. I have worked in a variety of settings including Children's Hospital in Boston and private, public, and therapeutic schools.
In addition to working with children, parents, and adults at Zackson Psychology Group, I hold a teaching appointment at Columbia University School of Social Work and supervise psychological services at Domus charter and selective private and public schools. Working within the school systems, I have created innovative clinical models and have significant experience both advocating and collaborating on behalf of young people within the multi-disciplinary wrap around systems.
I believe that all people are inherently resilient with the ability to thrive, given the appropriate support and environment. I work diligently to help individuals work through their difficulties and become their own therapist. Clients often see a reduction in symptoms early on in treatment.
