My Approach to Helping
When you're depressed, anxious or suffering from low self esteem being able to move through the world in a meaningful, authentic way can feel almost impossible. I offer a safe environment to allow you to express yourself without judgment. I will help you with the emotional pain that many family members and friends are unable to do. Through empathy, understanding and genuine compassion for your struggle, I will work with you as you fulfill that need for a better, happier life. I will be there for you when others are not and where others cannot.
I have seen how the process of psychotherapy can help people better cope with life's challenges. By reducing the symptoms of depression and anxiety my clients are able to live more fulfilling lives and move toward meaningful goals. My belief is that life is about relationships. And healthy communication is essential to having better relationships to one another and to one's self. By allowing you the room to think and understand what it means to be you either in an individual session or in a couples session I will work with you as you move towards wholeness and understanding.
My current practice consists of working with adult individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction and relationship issues. I also work with couples as they learn to communicate more effectively with one another and as a result a deeper appreciation for the relationship.
By utilizing psychodynamic approaches in my practice and in our sessions we will bring unconscious material to light and allow the room necessary to understand what it means to be the real you. I'm not just a silent observer in the room but rely on the collaborative process to get to the gold that sits in the room waiting to be found.
