My Approach to Helping

Everyday someone struggles with the idea of whether therapy is the right choice for them. Many people attempt to “push through”, ignore or avoid dealing with issues that may be reoccurring in their life. For some it’s about not wanting to share personal information with a stranger. Other times it’s about fear of trying something new. For many it’s about believing that they can resolve issues without support from others. Some may feel that seeking therapy is a sign of weakness. Oddly enough it takes strength and self awareness to recognize when support may be helpful. The goal of the clinician is always to provide support in a nonjudgmental, non threatening environment. Perfect Day Counseling PLLC is a New York based private practice offering Telehealth therapy to residents of NY State and Connecticut. The practice was founded by Aubry Charles, licensed clinical social worker psychotherapist who has over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has worked with different patient populations, treating a wide range of psychological conditions. Mr Charles has worked closely with children, teenagers, adults, and their families , to help bring them closer to their goals.

Mr. Charles utilizes a number of treatment modalities and interventions based upon clients' goals and needs. He believes in an integrative approach and often incorporates CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), DBT ( Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Collaborative Problem Solving, role playing and mindfulness, with the goal of improving overall sense of self and mood. Clients will learn skills to help cope with life’s obstacles and manage stress more effectively.
