My Approach to Helping
It is extremely brave and courageous to open up to a complete stranger. Whether an adolescent, adult, couple or family, I am here to listen without judgment or personal agenda, and guide you to the best of my ability. It is my duty to be professional, ethical, and most importantly supportive in this courageous journey.
My approach involves use of Narrative Therapy which helps people become and embrace being an expert in their own lives. I also incorporate CBT to help identify, challenge and replace negative thinking patterns. For couples, I use Gottman Therapy which helps prevent conflicting communication; increase intimacy, respect; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy or disappointment; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
My goal is to help provide feelings of comfort, trust, and safety. I want to help you facilitate any behavioral change, improve the ability to both establish and maintain relationships, and help enhance one's ability to effectively cope with whatever stressors are present in your life.
