My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Intrspectrum Counseling. I believe in creating a safe space for clients to explore their views of themselves, their relationships and community to heal and grow. Through LGBTQIA affirming, feminist and trauma informed lenses, I help clients navigate where the negative views began and how they continue to impact the client today. I utilize multiple interventions, including EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients live and grow authentically.
I attended the University of Rochester for her Bachelor’s in Psychology and returned to Chicago for my masters in social work from Loyola University Chicago. I have extensive experience working with multiple types of trauma through my work with the Hephzibah Diagnostic Treatment Center, a residential facility for children struggling with mental health issues from abuse and neglect. I continued my work supporting adults who struggle with depression, anxiety and complex trauma while working at Compsych Guidance Resources.
While growing up in Oak Park, IL, I developed a passion for diversity and inclusion for BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities. I recognize the societal views on these communities and how they impact a client’s day to day experiences. My personal mission is to help each client feel heard, seen and to feel they are not alone in this fight for social justice and equality.
