My Approach to Helping
I provide a supportive, listening ear and am excellent at building rapport. I help adolescents and adults develop healthy coping skills and motivate them to set and accomplish therapy goals.
I support clients struggling with depression, anxiety, Autism, ADHD, family conflict, parenting, and more. I also have extensive experience in treating:
Behavioral Issues: Behavioral issues manifest themselves in a variety of ways, including social withdrawal, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, aggression, self-harm, and various other challenges. I create an individualized treatment plan that may include therapy, skills training, family counseling, and more.
TraumaPTSD: Trauma comes in many forms, and I help clients learn ways to confront and come to terms with painful memories, thoughts, and images that cause distress. Through talk therapy, I teach relaxation methods to use when anxious and create strategies to help clients get back to daily activities.
In therapy, I use CBT, play therapy, psychotherapy, and other methods to meet client needs. In every case, I'm open to go outside of standard interventions to help clients open up and move forward.
I earned a graduate degree from Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In my free time, I enjoy reading autobiographies, travel, and practicing self-care.
