Are you looking for help to better manage anger or stress in your life or in your relationship with your partner or children? Or are you going through a life transition and wanting the guidance of a trained therapist to sort through priorities, digest and express your feelings and create positive changes? In my 25 years of practice, I have helped many in individual, couple and group therapy. What I aspire to in therapy is that I want to understand you deeply and validate your past and current experiences, for you to feel safe and cared for, to build on your strengths and facilitate a process in which you can learn to be more in harmony with yourself and be closer to and have more meaningful connections with loved ones.

As someone who practices meditation myself, I value bringing mindfulness and awareness to my interactions. Knowing oneself, bringing self-compassion, and having humor are all so important in the journey of one's life.

More Info About My Practice

I currently offer two groups, one in "A Mindful Approach to Anger & Stress Management for Mothers", which is educational as well as having space for sharing your experiences of making more skillful choices in moments of struggle. The other is a group for divorcing or divorced mothers. Having a safe space to talk with others who are in similar circumstances can be very helpful when going through major life transitions. Feel free to contact me for more information on the timing of these groups, and their process.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have specific experience working with issues of grief and loss, parenting, and working with anger and stress. My experience of grief comes from having been a bereavement counselor at a hospice at the beginning of my counseling career, and working with a lot of people going through divorce. Being a parent myself, and having studied child-rearing practices, approaches to positive discipline and creating strong bonds, has helped me to teach others how to navigate these precious relationships. Anger and frustration can come out with those we are closest to, and most of us have not been shown by our parents what it looks like to regulate one's own emotions, take responsibility, and apologize when needed. I feel fortunate to be in a position of passing on what I have learned, and continuing to expand my understanding from those I work with.
