My Approach to Helping
Welcome! My name is Naomi Kimmelman. I am a psychotherapist (LMFT) licensed in California and Hawaii. I draw upon over 15 years supporting people through the challenges of life. I became a therapist because I am awed and humbled by the range of our human experience and the profound nature and resilience of the human heart, mind, body, and soul.
I best support people who identify with at least two of the following:
1. Are a young, middle aged, or an older adult (age 18 - 100+).
2. Have never had therapy before.
3. Have had therapy and are experienced with mental health topics, but are looking for a new or different approach. Especially, if you want to go deeper, learn about holistic tools and perspectives, gain understanding, insight and clarity.
4. Relate to the experience of at least one of the following: Anxiety, depression, going through or preparing for a life transition or change, are having relationship challenges (with partners, friends, parents, other family members, children or co-workers), grief, loss, or the death of a loved one, have had trauma(s) or been in hardscary situations, are exploring your identity and who you are, want to increase your self esteem, self confidence and get over guilt, shame and imposter syndrome, heal from past hurts or work towards a vision of your future self.
5. Identify as a student, a new therapist, or a helping professional including but not limited to: teachers, first responders, medical professionals, healers, and activists.
6. Have a spiritual inclination, connection, values or religion that is important to you.
7. Are creative or love and appreciate nature.
8. Come from a diverse cultural background, heritage, have an expansive identity, or identify as first generation, indigenous or have moved internationally.
9. Alternatively, are white, cis-gendered or heterosexual.
10. Have a desire to learn, grow, heal or experience something new.
