When did self-doubt, inner-critic and emotional reactivity (like anxiousness, sadness, anger) stop you from living the life you want to live? I work with people that have felt different from the "dominant culture" to increase self knowledge, love for themselves and return to optimal health in body, mind and spirit.

Do you KNOW you are brilliant but desire to live each day with more fulfillment?
Are you successful in some areas of life but KNOW you have a greater purpose?
Together we attune to your knowing/inner wisdom and identify solutions relevant to your life.

As a culturally sensitive therapist, I seek to get to know you as an individual and consider how your identities of age, race, ethnicity, spirituality and religion/no religion, gender, sexuality, physical or mental diversity and economic diversity may impact your experience. This is especially important as you may feel something is wrong with you however what you're experiencing may be a result of something that has happened to you or your ancestors.

I was trained in diverse western psychology approaches and also value indigenous knowledge systems as healing practices. Honest communication and loving kindness is at the core of my practice. Your voice is essential to your own healing and well-being and your treatment plan will be unique to you.

My Therapy Focus

My therapeutic focus could be summed up with the word, "liberation." While I focus directly on your desires and hopes, like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I believe that to be at our best as a people, we must move toward "psychological freedom." In your lifetime, you may have had the experience of being judged and criticized for what makes you unique. The act of truly knowing yourself and loving yourself can be transformative and even impact your behaviors, mood and relationships.

Most people contact me because moods or behaviors they'd like to change or relationships they'd like to improve rather than overcoming oppression or discrimination. We will address the mood and behaviors that make life more difficult but if you are willing, we will also examine the the root cause and solutions so that you can experience the freedom you deserve in the present.
