My Approach to Helping
Trauma, panic, depression, anxiety, stress, isolation, and shame are aspects of life that most people face. If you're struggling with these and related issues, it's natural to feel helpless and guilty. Perhaps you can't even explain to those who love you what feeling completely out of control is like. I'll guide you to understand, process and move forward through these challenges. In a safe and supportive environment, you'll discover how living in survival mode became normal while also developing tools you can use in the real world to live a calmer, more peaceful, and more fulfilling life.
More Info About My Practice
I work with women who identify as Women of Color, LGBTQ, and White Allies. Many clients come to me because they are dealing with unresolved trauma, anxiety, depression, and tumultuous interpersonal relationships. They need a safe, constructive place to process the things that are causing them suffering in their lives. My approach is holistic, meaning I see you as a person impacted by the world around you. I am here to help you challenge unhelpful perceptions, misconceptions, well-meaning bad advice, deceptive intentions, and other unhelpful tools that have been used to write your story for you.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
It's common for people to utilize therapy once they realize that they'd like life to be something more than simply a struggle to get through each day in survival mode. Feeling helpless and out of control isn't your true default mode just because life's circumstances have pushed you into a constant state of fight or flight. When we spend large amounts of time in a state of suffering or survival, it can be hard to think about what a satisfying life could look like. With therapy, together, we can help you have new helpful experiences as you heal.
