Work with me centers on your story and your goals for the work we do. I am a relational person who believes that therapy can be hard along with laughter and ease. As we gain comfort with one another; safety increases and the world unfolds for you in different ways. There is a melting of fear and threat and a building of resiliency and confidence.

More Info About My Practice

My office is wheelchair accessible and I take most insurance. I also do sliding scale.

My Role as a Therapist

I use your strengths and abilities to help you figure out what will get you to your next step. We can go slow and find your courage, hold your fears and manage your anxieties together.

I believe in humor, justice and passion and will bring that to our work together. With the use of narrative therapy, the psychology of hope and your inner strength, love and peace can be a part of your every moment. Laughing is also a regular requirement for sessions.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

I see therapy as a mental massage. At times it can be messy, kind of like when cleaning your closet. It helps to begin by taking everything out first and then when you look inside your empty closet and think "now, that's clean"...but turn around and the mess is bigger than it was before. Now the process of putting each piece back in place begins and takes more time, it's more methodical. That's what therapy is like. As the pieces get put back together it's neater and feels better. It just takes time and energy to get there.
