My Approach to Helping

What if the best is yet to come? What if by examining our experience, habits, values, and ways of relating, we can learn new ways to care for, and enjoy, ourselves and the world? My hopes as counselor is to help you engage in a rich process of self-knowledge and self-transformation.
I help individuals and couples through caring and intelligent dialogue, where we examine your life and help you understand your needs and functioning, as the basis from which you will start positive and intentional changes.
My approach is integrative, in the sense that I integrate evidence-based and best practices from established psychotherapeutic and clinical approaches. I utilize CBT, DBT, Humanistic, Systemic, Social Justice, Psychodynamic, and Developmental tools and resources. I am bicultural, and derive understandings that come from my own identity and cultural development.
I've been helping individuals and couples since 2000, and via Telehealth since 2012.
I currently see clients only through Telehealth, this is, video or phone sessions. I am located in Argentina and Oregon is my professional and community home.
If you have never experienced Telehealth counseling, I will be glad to answer any questions and meet with you to try it out, and have an initial no-cost consultation. Please email me and we'll set up.
I am available and will be glad to respond promptly.

More Info About My Practice

A bit about me. Since 2001, I have been fortunate to work with individuals and families of very diverse backgrounds: at NYPresbyterian Hospital in NYC; the New York State Foundations for Mental Hygiene, in NY; the Morrison Center in Portland, OR, and in private and community practices both in PDX and in Buenos Aires.

My office is supportive of all diversity and strive to be an ally of personal choices. All communication is private and confidential.

I'm sure there is more to say, but I hope this is enough for a start. I will be glad to meet with you, for an initial no-cost consultation, and answer any questions you may have.
I look forward to talking with you.
Sincerely,

Alejandro
