Life often presents us with tough challenges. Relationships are hard sometimes. Stressful events happen. These difficult times can feel like too much to handle alone. I am a seasoned, experienced therapist with over 20 years of teaching people to manage stress effectively and to improve their relationships. I have the tools and skills to help you, your relationship and your loved ones experience relief.
I provide a warm and encouraging environment combining traditional psychotherapy with holistic, mind-body methods for helping people of all ages. I have trained extensively in research-based methods to show clients how to shift out of emotional pain and relationship difficulties into greater peace and harmony.
Sometimes the experiences you have had in the past spill over into your present reality causing you to see and hear things through a filter that actually may be causing you unnecessary difficulties. I help clients identify those false filters and learn to see and hear what is actually happening rather than what we believe is happening. This in and of itself brings tremendous relief.
But I don't spend a lot of time with clients examining the past. I help clients to feel really heard, seen and understood. Then, I provide practical guidance on things you can do right away to yield a different and better experience in your life and relationships.
My many years being a therapist for children, teens, couples and individual adults along with my 20+ years leading yoga and meditation classes, workshops and retreats has shown me so much about human suffering, healing and what is needed to move out of pain and into joy. I believe my role as therapist is also one of compassionate teacher. It's my job to guide clients with actionable methods through the process of growth into lasting relief.

More Info About My Practice
Many of my clients benefit from learning how to relax, how to feel at ease through relaxation therapies, meditation, aromatherapy and other daily practices that lend to holistic wellbeing. All of these methods are based in the research evidence-based practice of mindfulness which I have been practicing and teaching for over 20 years.
When you come to my office you will hear soothing music, you will smell relaxing aromatherapy, you will immediately feel a sense of calm come over you. You will also see shelves of miniature items and two blue trays with sand. I use a powerful modality called sand-tray therapy with many of my clients. Sand tray therapy is for people of all ages - not only child clients. It provides an opportunity to explore and express what you may not have words for. The miniatures can represent myriad things, ideas, people, dreams, feelings, wishes and the sand tray is the canvas or container for this expression.
It's very important for you to find the right fit with the therapist you choose. I only work with clients who are truly committed to the work therapy requires. I will want to speak with you by phone at no cost to you to be sure all your questions are answered and to ensure that we are indeed a good fit for one another.
Entering into therapy is a commitment and it requires a dedicated investment of time, energy and money. I take it very seriously when a client chooses to enter into therapy with me and I go above and beyond to provide clients what they need to feel better in their lives and relationships.
If you believe you'd like to work with me, let's set up a brief phone consultation to discuss next steps. I look forward to hearing from you.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can feel, look and be a very different experience depending on the therapist you choose to work with. The therapy experience I provide people is one that provides a space that is warm, soothing and inviting in order to help people experience a relaxed state. In a relaxed state of mind and body, my clients are better able to explore their thoughts and feelings and are more open to learning new ways of framing their perceptions and experiences in life.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as therapist is one that holds a space of non-judgment, acceptance and encouragement. I see my role as a facilitator, a teacher and a guide, always honoring the inner wisdom that is within each person. I provide valuable information and skills that help people to discover new ways of understanding and experiencing what life presents them.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
It is a myth that therapy is only for people with mental illness. Therapy, with a therapist that is the right fit for you, is an opportunity to feel emotionally safe and supported while you explore all the thoughts and feelings about your experiences you may be having. Therapy can be a place that facilitates tremendous personal growth and can teach you life-changing skills to improve your relationships with others and with your own self.
