My Approach to Helping

I'm a licensed professional counselor committed to helping those who are struggling with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I have over 15 years of experience working in mental health. My work focuses on helping you navigate your thought processes to better understand yourself and targeting ineffective behaviors. I hope to help you find the tools to lessen your anxiety, increase your self-esteem, and find contentment within yourself. This is a journey of healing and I hope to be your guide during this journey.

As a therapist who utilizes both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), my approach to helping clients would involve a combination of techniques from both therapies. This means that I may start by using CBT techniques to identify negative thought patterns and behaviors that are contributing to your distress. Once these patterns have been identified, I may use ACT techniques to help you develop greater acceptance of your difficult emotions and to focus on living a more meaningful and fulfilling life, even in the presence of these emotions. Our work together is collaborative, and flexible, with the goal of helping you achieve your individualized and unique goals and improve your overall well-being.

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment with me, please feel free to send me an appointment request.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

To better help you with seeking mental health treatment, I would need to know the following information:

Why are you seeking mental health treatment? Understanding your specific mental health concerns and goals for treatment can help me potentially determine if I would be a good fit for you.

When would you like to start? Mental health treatment can take time to arrange, so it's important to determine when you would like to begin.

Do you plan on using insurance? Knowing whether or not you plan to use insurance can help me know if I accept your insurance or we would explore alternative payment options. If you plan on using insurance, it's also important to know what type of coverage you have and any limitations or requirements associated with your plan.
