More Info About My Practice
I have experience treating adults, families, couples, adolescents, and children experiencing a wide range of mental health and life transition issues. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma/stress, attachment and relationship issues for a variety of populations. I am comfortable with short-term solution-focused treatment as well as more ongoing, in-depth exploration of past and present dynamics in your life.
I provide therapy in a calming, comfortable, safe, and private environment. I also provide a free 20 minute face-to-face consultation so that you can ensure that I am a good fit for you or your family.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am especially skilled in understanding how trauma and stress impact the mind, body, spirit, and interpersonal relationships. I work closely with individuals to help them cope with, process, and develop meaning from difficult emotions or events. I have specific training in attachment and interpersonal trauma, and I work closely with parents, individuals in a relationship or family, and children to teach attunement, empathy, and flexibility.
Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work
Since I take into the account the experience of the "whole person," I often employ an ecological systems approach to assessment and treatment. This means we may explore how relationships in your family, peer group, community, and the larger whole of society may have impacted your world view and perceptions. I find that this approach leads people to a "big picture" understanding of their own health and wellness, while still providing them coping skills, tools, and strategies to navigate the day-to-day challenges of life.
