My Approach to Helping
My philosophy and approach to helping people: I believe that change takes place through the interpersonal dynamic between therapist and client. This relationship provides a safe holding environment for the client to address areas in need of change and fosters change that then extends outward to other important relationships and life areas. I incorporate motivational interviewing and relapse prevention as back drop to the therapeutic alliance. These skills enable the client to overcame obstacles associated with addiction and poor coping strategies.
