My Approach to Helping

My philosophy of individual counseling is holistic. That is in both diagnosis and treatment I focus on the body, soul and spirit. Socrates said well, "The cure of a part should not be attempted without the treatment of the whole, and no attempt should be made to cure the body without a soul." In family counseling and institutional consultations I use a family systems model. That is in diagnosis and treatment I treat the family or organization as a unit, rather than as separate, individual parts.
