My Approach to Helping
I am interested in getting to know you and how you see the issues that are difficult in your life. You may be having conflict in your relationships, feel anxious a lot of the time, have low self-esteem or you feel 'down' a lot and wonder if you're depressed. You may be feeling that your life is not working for you but you do not know what to change.
I would like to talk with you about these problems, perhaps exploring how they started, or how they may be connected to other issues in your life. As we grow in understanding we will develop new ways to cope with these problems so you can move on in your life with more freedom.

More Info About My Practice
My regular therapy sessions are 50 minutes, but I usually like to take a little longer when we are exploring the possibility of working together. I like to discuss fees and payment arrangements when we meet so we can explore all the issues involved. I do work with several insurance companies and do electronic billing when possible. I will work with you to find helpful schedule and payment arrangements.

My Role as a Therapist

As a therapist I can offer a fresh perspective on those old, familiar struggles. As we talk about your problems I can help you identify feelings you may not have been aware of,or help you in thinking about your life so new information arises that builds our understanding. It is interesting for us to explore old relationships, a conflict that never was resolved or a loss that never was acknowledged

My Guiding Ethical Principles

Of most importance to me as a therapist is preserving confidentiality. You must be sure that no information about you will ever leave my office (with some exceptions that we will discuss), so you will be able to trust me. I also make sure that I never put my interests above yours and that I never intrude in your life outside the office or reveal inappropriate information about myself.
