What's My Approach to Therapy?

I have rigorous analytic training and I am Certified in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, EcoPsychology, Art Therapy, and animal based healing. I often work with younger adults in farming, healthcare, as well as artists, surfers, athletes, and folks in environmental science. I work with Lyra patients. I have 10 years of experience in the UCSF Emergency Department, as well as other emergency psychiatric settings, hospitals, and I am trained in suicide risk assessment, treatment, and safety planning.

My Practice & Services

As part of the Palo Alto Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program (PAPPTP), a two-year program at Stanford, I underwent two years of weekly consultations with psychoanalysts, Drs. Schneider and Birkhofer, and Ann Martini, LCSW. I completed training with the PAPPTP- Fellowship Year in Spring 2021 and completed their Two-Year Program in Spring 2024. My prior clinical experience was working in Emergency Departments at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, where I provided psychiatric evaluations and safety planning for adults and children. I earned my master's degree in psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California. I was offered a position working on O'ahu for the State of Hawai'i Department of Education, facilitating individual talk and art therapy with children. I moved back to Santa Cruz and spent several years providing clinical evaluations at a psychiatric crisis unit and inpatient hospital for the Santa Cruz County Behavioral Health Center. Outside of my practice and ongoing analytic training, I often surf, hike, ski, ride horses, make art, and spend time in nature and conversation with my family and friends. I played two NCAA Division I varsity sports at the University of Vermont, grew up on a horse farm, and come from a lineage of farmers, healthcare providers, land conservationists, athletes, and artists. Thank you for visiting my website, and I hope to generate positive change and wellness with you.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The work I offer ranges from seeing people 1 to 4 days a week, depending on the presenting issues and desire for a more in-depth treatment. For some, meeting once every other week is an option as well. This is something we can work out together.
