Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Dr. Levrini's approach is unique in that clients are writing down goals and steps to take each week, and constantly analyzing progress toward those goals. Unlike traditional "talk therapy" clients are not spending entire sessions discussing their feelings on particular issues but rather making concrete real steps toward effecting change in their lives. Discussion centers around specific ideas about how clients can use their strengths and skills to approach situations differently and more effectively. Many clients who may not have felt previous "talk therapy" had helped them, find this positive, concrete approach to be refreshing and more geared toward their particular goals for therapy.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Dr. Levrini's approach is to help clients develop real life coping skills to apply in real world settings. Her coaching/cognitive-behavioral approach is designed to be as efficient as possible so that clients are reaching their goals in as short of time as possible, and moving forward with their lives. Since goals are set in a measurable way and each week both therapist and client are assessing progress toward those goals, it is clear when ther therapeutic process is complete.
