My Approach to Helping
Recovery is possible for everyone, whether from addiction, emotional pain or past trauma. I believe strongly in the possibility of recovery and the right of every human being to have a healthy and productive life. Helping individuals, couples and families sort out the issues that are obstacles to recovery is primary to healing. Oftentimes, clients aren't aware of what is holding them back and keeping them stuck in unhealthy patterns and as a therapist, I can aid in identifying those things. Together, we can undo false belief systems and unhealthy habits. Seeking therapy is the first step in that process.
More Info About My Practice
I use many modalities in my approach to therapy, matching the modality to the individual. Each person is unique and brings his or her own history making it impossible to utilize only one or two approaches to therapy. People respond differently to styles of counseling and there are many different avenues to try in helping people recover. The journey can be a long one or a short one, difficult or relatively easy depending on the depth of the issue(s) and the length of time they have existed. But the end result can be living more comfortably in our own skin and feeling that life has new meaning.
