My Approach to Helping
The Jones Psychology Group and I bring to you an Integrative Depth Psychology framework, exclusively. Integrative Depth Psychology, founded by Dr. William James Jones, operates within four interdisciplinary pillars.
We begin the therapeutic process by exploring foundational aspects of identity and culture, and the impact these elements have on identity formation, worldview, and relationships. This process includes an exploratory conversation supporting one's cultural awareness, competence, and sensitivity.
We then move the therapeutic work into a humanistic milieu to help create a symbiotic or relationally based therapeutic alliance that will set the groundwork for trust, honesty, and safety in therapy.
After that, through an intersubjective psychoanalytic approach we co-create a therapeutic experience that makes room for both conscious and unconscious material to manifest. This material is utilized to help make sense of current and past behaviors, symptoms, and perspectives that have become distressing, problematic, or inauthentic for the individual.
Lastly, the therapeutic work is conceptualized through a Jungian or analytic framework. Through this framework we work through a process of integration, individuation, and perhaps a reclamation of one's most authentic and integrative self which hopefully leads to a better quality of life and healthier relationships with the self, others, and the world.
The Jones Psychology Group celebrates individuals of all walks of life and works to support and assist our clients in navigating the many communities we remain a part of and perhaps even love.
