My team and I are here to help you overcome your challenges and embrace the things that are already awesome in your life.
If you are seeking EMDR, we can approach this at whatever pace makes you comfortable. If you are concerned about EMDR or any method for trauma treatment, please know that we can work on healing without you ever having to speak your experience out loud. Also, I offer EMDR for couples, if and when we determine that you and your partner are right for this style of work.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Being a therapist means using my attunement skills, my empathic non-judgement and my very presence to help others. My favorite thing about being a therapist is the idea that I am never helping just one person, but all those in that person's life; I'm contributing to the community.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
This is common and unfortunate. If we work with a clinician who is a poor fit, or lacking in their own professionalism, this can damage our desire to do more therapy.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Success in therapy is highly dependent on the fit between client and clinician. Do a gut check: Do I feel heard? Do I feel safe talking to this therapist? Do they remind me of anyone and, if so, how might this impact my sense of safety with this person? If need be, consult with more than one therapist to ensure you feel comfortable with your choice.
