Many people believe that coming to therapy means there's something wrong with them. I take a different perspective. I believe that your body, mind spirit are parts of a very wise, capable and conscious system that deeply knows how to live a healthy and happy life. When that system gets interrupted by difficult experiences, trauma, beliefs, cultural restrictions or self-identifications, it isn't allowed to heal and function in its natural rhythm. You get charged up or charged down and can't release, and end up carrying excess energy, emotion or physical or emotional wounds that aren't helpful to your functioning.

There are tools you can learn in therapy that help you reconnect with your natural body rhythm. When you have an understanding about how you function, you can consciously change your old patterns and behaviors. I use an approach that can target hidden wounding experiences that are hindering your natural rhythm. This approach tends to be more direct and looks at the source of your suffering, instead of focusing on the symptoms.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy can serve many purposes. It can support you during a life crisis, help you learn to communicate in relationships, serve as a safe space to dig deeper into your spiritual awareness, uncover unconscious beliefs or patterns learned in your childhood, assist you to work on disturbing experiences that get stuck in your system, and discover what kind of disruptions are interrupting your natural body rhythm.

What I find extremely important in therapy is that you learn more about who you are and how you operate. When you understand what's driving you or hindering you in your life, you can make the changes and choices that work best for you. What therapy provides is a safe and objective place to do this without personal judgments or bias. You can learn tools to use in your life that can help you and support you. Therapy can help you transform those behavior patterns that don't work into more optimal methods that are more aligned with what's true for you now. Therapy can help you learn more about you so that you can make the changes necessary to live a more fulfilling and happy life that is natural to your own rhythm.
