My Approach to Helping
Thomas is an associate marriage and family therapist in Pasadena, California, specializing in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy. Thomas has worked for The LGBTQ Center and The Trevor Project. During his time there, he developed the curriculum and successfully launched a Trans Ally Support Group, that continues to grow today. Thomas believes providing a safe and affirming environment is critical to providing clients with the space necessary for them to begin to process past trauma and address the challenges preventing them from building the life and affirming relationships they seek.
In addition to providing LGBTQ+ affirmative care, Thomas integrates narrative therapy, and trauma-informed somatic based therapies into his work. Having provided services for a national suicide prevention organization, Thomas is comfortable working with a variety of challenges, including clients struggling with complex trauma, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
Thomas enjoys working with individuals of all ages. Additionally, he has experience working with couples and families, and is currently facilitating several groups including two serving LGBTQ+ identifying youth and adults, a Trans Ally support group, and a social skills group for children. Thomas is currently providing in-person and telehealth sessions, and is supervised by Bren M. Chasse, LMFT94662
