My Approach to Helping
If you’re a creative, intelligent person, but despite that, you’re finding that your relationships are challenging and unsatisfying, I can help. As an experienced, highly skilled therapist, I work with individuals and couples to help resolve the overwhelming feelings, self-defeating behaviors, and relationship conflicts that block your growth and healing. Collaboratively, we examine your early history, relationship patterns, core beliefs, and goals. Integrating your past experiences organically leads to the mindfulness to choose better options. We build on your strengths to find creative solutions to life's inevitable challenges. A successful course of therapy paves the road to better self-esteem and greater fulfillment.
More Info About My Practice
With an interactive style and integrative approach, I tailor psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and experiential methods, including dream analysis, mindfulness, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to your individual needs. EMDR is a powerful and highly effective mind-body treatment to help you move through impasses and accelerate healing of anxiety, grief and loss, performance anxiety, and trauma.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Additionally, I have a special focus on bereavement counseling to guide you through the complex tasks of mourning. Whether it's the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or divorce, mourning is an active process. Find meaning to honor the impact of the loss and reclaim your wholeness.
I have a great deal of experience working with infertility and pregnancy loss. Metabolizing not just the traumatic memories but your relationship to the entire experience is an important part of healing. The goal is not to put the loss behind you, but rather to process the meaning and complexity of your loss so you can move through this with more ease and spaciousness.
I also work with people who experienced early parental loss to explore the ramifications of what was lost while simultaneously examining the internalized relationship that lives on and how it changes over time.
