My Approach to Helping
I'm an LMFT (licensed marriage and family therapist) and my training is based in systemic and relational therapy. I see individuals and couples in therapy. My top specialty areas are couple's therapy and eating disordersbody image. I take a collaborative approach that is strength-based and person-centered. A firm believer in the healing power of laughter, I'll likely to weave moments of levity into our sessions. Therapy is your own unique time and space to be yourself and feel supported in the process of untangling the issues that are preventing you from living your fullest life. I’ll invite you to examine how relationships, family roles, and environment play a part in maintaining problematic dynamics and behaviors that no longer serve you. In our work together, I will help empower you, assist you in finding healthier perceptions of yourself, and nudge you towards self compassion.
More Info About My Practice
Knowing the importance of feeling connected to your therapist, I encourage my clients to bring their most authentic selves to session; which is reflected in my casual style. My approach is collaborative, humanistic and strength based. I specialize in eating disorders, body image, women's issues, communicationboundaries, couple's therapy and am trained in Family Systems Theory. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and take a HAES (health at every size) approach with eating disorder treatment.
