My Approach to Helping
"Hello! I began my career in the helping profession over two decades ago. After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, I quickly realized my passion for this work and went on to pursue my Master of Arts in Psychology, and my Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology. My clinical training and experience includes work with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of clinical settings including group homes, foster homes, residential treatment centers, correctional facilities, and outpatient clinics. I have been practicing as a Licensed Psychologist in the state of California since June 2006 (Lic. # PSY20846).
I specialize in helping individuals who struggle with managing their sadness, anxiety, anger, loneliness, addiction, relationship issues, life transitions, trauma, and loss. I use a variety of treatment modalities designed to assess, identify, and target emotional and behavioral conditions that lead to daily impairments. My approach is client-centered, and includes but is not limited to a combination of evidenced-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Treatment is specifically tailored to the client’s individual needs and presenting symptomology.
I look forward to creating a strong mutual collaboration with you--a partnership that emphasizes your strengths, along with my guided therapeutic strategies to promote the changes you envision for yourself. I am dedicated to supporting you through your personal transformation, to helping you overcome your unique barriers, and to empower you to thrive. "
