My Approach to Helping
Life can often feel complicated, overwhelming, and filled with obstacles. Jason Meyer believes that most of these challenges can be conquered if we can overcome our apprehension to reach out and ask for help. He has a passion for helping people of all walks of life face these obstacles and find the strength and courage to make sustainable positive changes in their lives. Jason has always taken this responsibility to heart when working with his clients through his authentic personality, acceptance and understanding, and genuine honesty. Through his years of experience in the field, he has found that the process of counseling can serve as a beautiful foundation to help people gain the skills necessary to reach their full potential in life.
Jason Meyer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Master of Social Work Degree and from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Psychology. His focus is primarily based on Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with additional experience working with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Jason has been working in the mental health field for nearly 18 years, most of which he has spent working with individual children, small groups, and families within residential treatment settings. He has worked with many clients and families with extensively diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, all struggling to find the support and guidance necessary to make sustainable positive change in their lives.
