My Approach to Helping
Kelsey Edwards believes that it is fundamentally true that people are operating in the world the best they can with the tools that they have. Sometimes people need a safe and loving environment to build on those tools and reach a place of peace and prosperity for themselves and for their families. Kelsey strives to empower individuals to enhance their lives and create meaningful change that will have a lifelong impact.
More Info About My Practice
Kelsey served in the United States Armed Forces while attending undergraduate school. She completed her Bachelor Degree in Social Work through Colorado State University and began serving the community through work at child protective services. Through this experience, Kelsey became trained in Trust Based Relational Intervention and incorporates many aspects of this in her therapy with clients today. This approach works particularly well for working with children and families who have experienced adversity and trauma in their lives. It is a great resource to utilize for parents who are struggling to connect with their children or are dealing with behavioral issues. Kelsey pursued higher education through obtaining a Master of Social Work Degree from Fordham University and is currently a clinical social worker in the state of Colorado.
Kelsey enjoys working with people from all walks of life and utilizes many aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy and motivational interviewing in practice. Kelsey is transparent with her clients and shares with them sources of her treatment such as books, websites, articles and more. Her favorite moments of counseling are when people begin to learn how to connect their own dots, recognize maladaptive patterns, and put the tools they have learned to good use in transforming their own circumstances.
Kelsey offers a supportive, professional and inviting environment which she believes is crucial in providing excellent treatment. She ensures her clients feel safe, begin to learn their worth and most importantly, she expects that they will heal from their circumstances.
