My Approach to Helping
I use mindfulness throughout the therapeutic process to assist clients in dealing with life\'s challenges. I believe that awareness of the mind-body connection is an opening for therapeutic intervention. This set of techniques can provide a primary entry point for intervention when traditional talk therapies have not been effective - particularly for teens and students with different learning styles. I am passionate about empowering youth to find their own innate resources to overcome challenges and find a stable and lasting connection to themselves.
More Info About My Practice
I have worked with children, adolescents, and their families dealing with anxiety, bullying, trauma, self-harm, divorce, grief, and addiction issues. I also can provide guidance to parents dealing with learning differences and attempting to navigate the public school system and advocate for their children. I coach families and do home-based sessions when necessary to provide support.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Effective psychotherapy can help people overcome life's challenges which we all encounter and enable us to live life to the fullest. Having your own confidant can help you process through issues without fear of judgement or social repercussions.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
As the parent of a child with learning differences, I am aware of how socially isolating, difficult and heart-breaking it can be to watch a child struggle. I provide non-judgmental tried and true solutions for parents who are dealing with problems related to ADHD, dyslexia, marital problems due to parenting issues, family problems due to disruptive behavior from a struggling child of adolescent. There is hope, together we will find it and put a solution in place that supports and nurtures the family you were meant to be.
