How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy is a special type of interpersonal interaction and relationship which is focused specifically on the you, your needs, and getting the specialized help and attention you need and deserve. Much of the therapeutic "work", however, occurs outside of session in your day-to-day life. Using skills, techniques, and insights you've gained in the therapy session, you can begin to apply these in your life. The use of these new skills helps you to become more resilient and more satisfied with life.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
There is nothing I enjoy more than helping an individual to realize their greater potential through healing emotional wounds and growing past them. It gives me a deep feeling of gratitude to help individuals truly value themselves and their unique gifts.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Deciding to see a therapist can be a difficult choice to make. Seeking help is a sign of strength and an affirmation of hope in life. You deserve to feel happy and healthy in your life, and you deserve to have help in getting there.
If you're anxious about therapy, it can be helpful to speak to a therapist over the phone to have your questions answered. This is why I offer free phone consultations before we ever meet in person.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
The most important factors to consider in choosing a therapist are:
1) A sense of personal connection, comfort, or rapport with the therapist.
2) The experience level and skill of the therapist. Ideally, you should try to choose a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and who also has the necessary skill, training, and experiences to work with the types of problems that you are currently facing.
