I provide a highly-trained and individualized approach to psychotherapy. My work is characterized by compassion, intuition, optimism and collaboration. I pride myself on being approachable and try to be straightforward and encouraging. I help people recognize the areas of their lives in which they feel stuck, and work toward achieving their own definition of success and contentment. My personal specialties include relationship issues, parenting skills, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-esteem issues, Asperger's Syndrome, trauma and women's issues. I also have expertise in issues of acculturation. I incorporate a holistic, personalized approach to each treatment, and strongly believe that psychotherapy can aid in self-actualization in the relational, physical and professional areas of one's life.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am particularly good an empowering people to live the kinds of lives that they want to live, without feeling like they have to make excuses for themselves. I work hard at helping each individual find and follow his or her own inner guidance system, believing that once a person realizes that they themselves can make choices in their lives, then they will feel the most joy and freedom. I also have a specialty working with adolescents, young adults, adults and couples with Asperger's Syndrome.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I feel that the purpose of psychotherapy is to help people feel better in their daily lives. Whether one's issues are emotional, physical, occupational or relational and stem from the past, the present or are "hardwired", psychotherapy provides a unique opportunity to explore these unique determinants from an objective, warm and informed perspective, in order to ensure optimal functioning in daily life. It is an opportunity to work towards making the kind of changes in your life that will ultimately lead you to the kind of life that you want.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

I try to meet each client where they are at the time that they come to see me. I do my best to join their particular journey and understand their unique perspective. I do not judge my clients or what they are going through/have been through. I focus on helping each person make the best of their own personal circumstances, utilizing a gentle and kind approach to treatment.
