My Approach to Helping
Together we can open a door to deep healing and transformation when life's painful experiences leave you feeling overwhelmed and anxious. I'll walk with you through times when life feels lonely, heavy, and uncertain so that you may heal and move forward. We will tap into your unique inner resources and wisdom.
Sometimes it's so hard to pick up the pieces and move forward on your own.
In your process, we may take steps to help relieve symptoms of stress, loneliness, anxiety, panic or fears; emotional reactivity, angry outbursts and mood swings; or compulsive and addictive behaviors. I find that talk therapy alone is often not enough to help you move beyond painful experiences and deeply ingrained unhelpful patterns of behavior. I use an integrative approach to help you release and heal from the body up and the mind down.
I believe we all possess an inner wisdom and the ability to discern what is best for us. Sometimes the challenges and conditions of life cover over this innate wisdom. I hope you allow me to join you on your unique path to a more meaningful, satisfying life.

I am not on insurance panels but I provide receipts for clients who have 'Out of Network' benefits. I have a limited number of sliding scale slots for those with special financial needs- please talk with me about your situation.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I'm passionate about helping you experience the benefits of mind body techniques and deep emotional work to heal old painful and stuck places. It can feel so empowering to break up destructive patterns of relating to others and yourself. I find that emotions provide helpful cues and clues in how to respond to situations. I love helping others tap into this subtle 'language' and learn to manage powerful emotions so they don't take you over.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Yoga Teacher, I thrive by keeping up my own inner work and scholarly studies. I draw on recent developments in interpersonal neurobiology along with emotion and attachment theories. Depending on your unique needs, we may also try ancient technologies of yoga, mindfulness, breath techniques, and meditation. We may apply the modern technique of Brainspotting to help you experience deep processing and releases of stored distress and trauma in your mind and body.
