My Approach to Helping
Hi! My name is Dana and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. I believe you deserve to find a therapist that can provide a healing environment that allows you to feel seen and heard. I have extensive experience providing support for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, +), and polyamorous communities around navigating relationships, intimate partner violence, coming out, substance abuse, gender-affirming exploration, anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, and adjustment to living with HIV.
I rely on an inter-sectional trauma-informed lens to approach the concerns you want to explore. I utilize a combination of interventions including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness exercises, and creative expression to support clients in deepening their wellness journey. My goal in working with you is to collaborate with you to help you interrupt and constructively address patterns of behavior that no longer serve you so you can learn new ways of relating to yourself and those around you in a deeper and more meaningful way.
When I’m not holding space for clients in therapy, I enjoy playing and going on walks with my two dogs, cooking, and reading. I look forward to collaborating with you on your healing process and supporting you in tapping into your joy to live more authentically.
