My Approach to Helping
I have been in practice for over 20 years, successfully helping individuals and couples overcome critical challenges in their lives. I will help you cope with the unique challenges you face, and we will focus on the underlying causes of your problems, not just your symptoms. The focus of treatment will be understanding "you" in the context of your unique circumstances, not someone else's. This means a non-judgmental environment that focuses on understanding rather than moralizing. Intervention is not only the alleviation of symptoms that produce vicious negative life cycles, but knowing the causes and effects so that we can become free to choose better ways of living and interacting with ourselves and others.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Specialty areas include individuals and couples going through especially challenging life situations. We address the unconscious, unresolved issues that can lead to years of self destructive behavior such as anxiety, depression, loss, conflict.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
A major goal in the psychotherapeutic process is to increase self-awareness and further understand unresolved issues that can lead to years of self destructive behavior. Discussion and interpretation of your life experiences, both past and present, will enable you to clearly understand why you are in your current situation and finally take control of the behavioral patterns that you would like to change. Once these causes and effects are understood in the proper context, you will be able to choose a better way of living and learn to turn years of pain into a positive outcome.
