My Approach to Helping
You might feel like you alone in your thoughts of feeling inferior, not good enough, wondering how to balance being a parent, a spouse, a worker and take care of the everyday expectations that others have on you. You work hard to stop feeling that pressure you are having in your chest that makes breathing deeply difficult. You feel lost in your own life and wonder where you fit in and wonder if others can see the anxiety inside. Through our connection, I will help you find yourself again and work towards an increase in your self-confidence and finding time to take care of your self as well as those that you love.
Connection is my approach to helping you. Through our work together, we will find ways to help you connect to others in a more meaningful way to enhance your level of satisfaction in your life. Whether it be through Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Thought Field Therapy, Mindfulness or problem solving, I will be with you on your journey as your guide.

My practice focuses on the importance of connections through community and those in our lives. True relationships can be difficult because often we fear vulnerability. I will help you explore the root cause of your insecurities and how it manifests in your life.
My background consists of working in a long term residential setting with children, in education, community counseling center and as clinical director of a partial hospitalization program. I value all of these experiences as they have demonstrated to me that relationships are what help us heal. Adopted and foster children, trauma victims, difficulty with transitions in our lives, divorce, anxiety, and depression seem to have a common thread...loss of connection with others or with self. Let's work together to get through the pain and loss to the other side where hope and healing happens.

I am bi-lingual/bi-cultural Mexican American. I was born in Mexico and became a naturalized citizen which gives me insight into the challenges facing immigrants and their children. I am also skilled at helping bi-racial children and their families cope with their own struggles.
I am trained in Thought Field Therapy and am a Thought Field Therapist Diagnostician. (TFT-Dx) TFT is an evidence based therapy that helps reduce PTSD symptoms as well as anxiety, depression, guilt and other mood disturbances by locating energy points on your body and tapping on those points in a systematic manner.
