My Approach to Helping
My philosophy towards psychotherapy is that all people have the capacity to change their life for the better. A trusting, non-judgmental relationship with a therapist is typically the most valuable tool in growing towards that change. Once a trusting relationship is built, I draw from a number of empirically-based techniques for treatment, depending on the client's needs and wishes. With teens and young adults, I often engage parents and promote relationship growth by building communication. My specialties in working with teens include depression, self harm, disordered eating and substance abuse.
