My Approach to Helping
Therapy is, for me, a practice of becoming more fully ourselves, more alive. Most often we aren't aware of limiting patterns until there is a sense of distress or crisis. We are then faced with the dilemma of reverting to a familiar way or forming a new, uncertain way of being. It's in these moments that we need support for learning a new way of using ourselves.
I help people who seek greater influence in their life. I aim to help you grow your possibilities for how you can love, make demands, manage uncertainty, and form your desires. This gives you more than insights or understanding. It generates new experiences of being alive. For many, therapy is about having a healing experience, but I also strive to give you tools for translating your experiences into repeatable practices to take into your daily life.
I commonly see people struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, sexuality, and identity. In every case, I help people form better relationships with themselves.
I work with individuals and couples. I also have a decade of experience working with teens to help them through the challenges and transitions of adolescence. My work is informed by ongoing years of study in somatic, or embodied approaches to understanding, experiencing and influencing how we shape our lives.

Anxiety: Anxiety takes many forms of response, from uncertainty to overwhelm to panic. People often get stuck in anxiety because they don't know how else to react to what is novel or challenging. I help people manage the intensity of their anxiety so they can form more appropriate and adaptive responses to their situations.
Stress management: Stress most often comes from habitual patterns which, when sustained, generate fatigue, overwhelm and stuckness in the body. I can help you learn how to manage your reponses to generate more flexibility, ease and vitality.
Excitement: Whether motivation, sexual desire, or intensities of feeling, excitation is the rhythm and pleasure of being alive. I enjoy helping people learn how they limit or overwhelm themselves so they can participate in their arousal.
Life transitions: Transitions can be initiated by a change in job, relationships, phase of life, or a crisis which disorients our familiar world. We can respond to transitions by clinging to the familiar or we can learn to participate in our changes, ending one phase of life and forming a new beginning. I can help guide you through the uncertainties, possibilities and excitements of change without reverting to old habits or limiting self-images and narratives.
