I believe that individuals are ultimately the best source of their own answers and can best reach these answers in an environment of respect and valuing of their unique strengths. I tailor my approach to each individual, and my involvement in session can vary from supportive listening, to exploratory questioning, to actively provide exercises for practice in and out of session. I come from a position of curiosity, looking for what is working well and what is not, and for what changes can help my clients achieve what they want in their lives.

More Info About My Practice

I am presently a provider with Excellus/Blue Cross/Blue Shield and with Aetna. In addition to individual therapy and couples counseling I offer groups in the following topic areas: DBT, Bereavement, and Interpersonal Mindfulness. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email with any questions. My self-pay fees are $120 for an initial 90-minute evaluation/consultation, $90 for a 50-minute individual therapy session, and $45 for group sessions. A free 20-minute initial consultation may be available by phone or in person if you are unsure of whether or how to proceed.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love the potential for positive change, and the incredible power that simple changes in perspective and experience can have in transforming one's life. I am constantly inspired by the changes my clients are making in their lives, and I like having to stay on top of my own process of growth and integrity in order to support others in reaching their potential.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Try it! It really can change your life. And it's a reversible decision if you don't like it. If you're looking, there's probably something you want to be different in your life - therapy may be a great way to change it. Trust your instincts and remember that you're in charge. If you don't like your therapist's approach, let them know what's not working for you, and don't stick with someone who makes you uncomfortable or doubt yourself.
